I just thought I'd start a premature rejection thread. I'm not 100% certain that I've been rejected, but I'm close to it. So yeah..if you get a rejection letter, post your stats/school you applied to/etc. here. There's a formatting thing that you can use.

I'll be the first one to do that :)

Oh well, it never hurts to try. I'm still glad and don't regret that I applied to NYU. Sure process itself is frustrating, but I AM competing with best of the best, and the experience of that is great. I'm so glad I did this.

Good luck to all of you btw. Don't let my negative vibe distract you!!

hehe

What are your stats hhboyji?

28 ACT
3.77 GPA (had C in Ap calc AB in junior yr)
Terrible senior grade :P
Excellent ECs (my only hook, but oh well)
Been in US for 3 years.. in ESOL for a yr
Asian female in VA public IB school
Essays (they were kinda risky.. but decent. Not excellent in my opinion)
Good Recs I'm sure
10 IB/AP courses by graduation

ppl in my school already got their acceptance letters
No invites.. have never heard from NYU from the day I applied (except the confirmation email)
I applied to NYU knowing my odds were against me. I already got rejected from wellesley.. northwestern, and waitlisted from W+M (instate).
So yep I'm getting thin letter tomm or day after or day after...
I don't regret it tho :P

Lalala.. I just want my letter to come so that I can move on :)

I'm starting to fear I'm in the same boat. Another person at my school has received their acceptance letter. Though he applied to Stern and got a Sunday at the Square invite, and I applied to Tisch and have gotten...well, nothing. I don't know, do they send out all acceptances at the same time? Also, he got a scholarship, and substantial at that, resentment? a little :-P, and it seems people getting them first have several scholarships. At least based on this site, a lot of people are getting $$$'s from a university that is notorious for not giving much aide. I dunno, I have a bit of hope left, but it's very minimal. I ought to have worried more about my GPA.

Same here...have never heard from NYU from the day I applied except the confirmation email.

Even the email said:

"You will soon receive written confirmation that initial processing has begun on your application. That letter will include several key items from your application that we ask you to double-check (your name, address, term of entry, intended major, etc.) to be certain we have the correct information. If you notice any errors, please follow the instructions in the letter to respond with corrections."

But I have recieved no written confirmation.
