Health Insurance

Hi all. My son will (most likely - just waiting to hear from one more school re: FA) be attending DU next fall as a new frosh. I'm trying to figure out the DU student health insurance. Anybody know (1) how much it costs (per term or per year), (2) does it cover the student all year or only for FWS terms, and (3) how about when the student is at home, away from Colorado - does it cover medical services in the home state as well, for example during the winter break or summer term? Is there a deductible? Co-pays?

Anyone know where I can find out this kind of information? Is it something they will send us after we send the enrollment deposit?

@Sweetbeet, here is a link to DU’s student insurance plan. It is for the current year, but still should give you a rough idea of costs and coverage. <a href=“Health & Counseling Center | Student Affairs”>Health & Counseling Center | Student Affairs;

I would call University of Denver and ask. The new ACA regulations have affected college insurance plans and they may have different coverage from what was offered in 2013. Here’s a link that outlines the changes:

Thanks! That info is very helpful. Any idea how to get a list of the preferred providers? Are there any in Hawaii?
