Turns out I was accepted to the Health Science Honors Program for the College of Natural Science, even though I don't remember applying for it. Is it really as prestigious as they say? Is it a good opportunity?

UT shortlists people to apply for combined medical program (7 years) from people admitted to health sciences honors (not sure if a specific group is shortlisted).

So if you are interested in applying for this program, then you need to be admitted first to the honors program.

SeaLionLaugh, when did you receive your acceptance? My daughter also apply ( at the end of November) but haven’t hear anything.
And yes it is very prestigious, the honor students have their dorms and additional activities.
Thanks!

I am OOS, applied pretty early (Septemberish), got my acceptance letter 11/29, and my HSH letter 11/30.

If you are OOS, the med school program wont apply for you since the program is for instate.

There may be some scholarships in honors programs but I am not certain when they hand them out. These are department specific and might help with OOS tuition quite a bit if you get one.
