Health Science major vs Biology major for premed

I haven't decided a major yet and I'm trying to figure out if a health science major is better or if a biology major is better for premed? What are the pros and cons of both majors? In addition, which major is better if I don't go to med school?

I'm leaning more towards the health science major b/c my school has a better program for it, and I prefer learning about health than just biological terms. However, I'm wondering if a biology major would be more helpful in terms of preparing for the MCAT? Thank you very much =)

You can get into med with almost any major. Pick a major that has decent options. For example Biochem if good for med school, dental school, pharmacy school, and many others.

I wonder if you could get a BSN, and then go to med school. That way you have a fair amount of medical knowledge and you could be a nurse if you don’t go to med school.
