Biology, BioChem, Biological Sciences, or Nursing?

Alright, so I applied to colleges mostly for a Biochem major and if they didn't offer that, I chose Biology. I suddenly had an urge to change my major the other day. I have a good feeling that I will be going to TAMU, definitely going somewhere in Texas, though. (hopefully I'll get some scholarship or finaid from TAMU!!! ahhhh!) So here are my concerns:

For future Medical School considerations, I want a major that won't be too terribly difficult to get a good GPA, if I don't make it into medical school I want a major that will be able to get me a job with a bachelor's degree.

Honestly, I feel like I have much much more interest in human health problems than just basic biology. I'm not sure how I feel about Biochem, heard it's really hard. I recently thought about majoring in Nursing so I could at least be a nurse if nothing else works out, and thought that Nursing would help with med school, but also heard that Nursing majors do not satisfy requirements for med school, and I would have to take additional credits in med school or something.

What would be the best option? Maybe I could be a pharm rep with that degree? :)

Seems like EVERYONE'S majoring in Biology.....

Biochemistry, it will help out a lot for the MCAT, if you are interested in it you can achieve a good GPA, and if you only have a bachelors in any of the listed major’s above, it will be hard to find a job. I would at least consider getting a Masters or PhD. You will make more money, and have a safer job. A bachleors in Biology is actually unhelpful but a masters or a PhD will allow you to conduct research, teach, and even run a laboratory. Think about it!

Ever heard of biophysics? It has good prospects if you go to grad school for it no become a medical physicst. I do think it will be hard, but so are many other thing. You could consider biotechnology too. There really isn’t a major that isn’t hard that already has the med school prerequisites as part of its curriculum.

An MS or PHD in bios is just as bad as the BS possible worse. There is a huge glut of bios PhD so many are stuck in postdocs and are declared overqualified when they apply for anything else. MS is considered the same as a BS or as a BS with 2 years experience so it really makes no sense to get it.
