Health Science Scholars at UT Austin

I have been admitted to Health Science Honors program at UT, was wondering if any current/ former HSScholar's could share their experience at school and/or after school ? and what is the success rate in applying to medical schools.

i know this is probably too late, but i thought i’d comment anyway. this is the first year of HSS graduates. as far as i know, every HSSer that applied to medical school got accepted, many to several prestigioius Texas schools (Baylor/Southwestern, Southwestern/Houston). overall, i think the acceptances are more due to the quality of student HSS accepts rather than the student having been in HSS. however, HSS affords a lot of neat opportunities like being surrounded by intelligent, like-minded students, social event coordination, and the extra push of being required to write a thesis. i’m very pleased with my HSS experience so far.

Thank you @Bobby Joe .Your post is appreciated and will also be of use to future CCer’s looking to go in the same direction. One question though do HSSer’s get any merit aid or scholarships if yes , what is the approximate or does it vary person to person?

At this time I don’t think there are any scholarships/merit aid specific to HSSer’s (most likely because it is such a new program). Many students in HSS receive merit aid through other organizations, though. I know there is one HSS student who received the Forty Acres Scholarship.
