Health Sciences vs Biology

I have narrowed down my college decision to Gettysburg College majoring in Health Sciences and Bucknell majoring in Biology.
While Bucknell is a better school, I like the Gettysburg Health Science major more than straight Biology. Can somebody please tell me the benefits of majoring in Health Sciences over Biology?

The two colleges are very close to equal in other categories so this is basically the deciding factor.

Thanks!

My son picked Gettysburg for the Health Science Major. Why dont you compare course offerings at both schools. That might help you choose.

My daughter is a HS major at Gettysburg. She’s only a freshman, but loving it.

One nice thing about the G’burg HS major is that it’s available as a BA or BS. BA is typically geared toward the allied health professions like PT, OT, optometry, etc. While the BS is geared toward students who have aspirations of med school. This gives students the flexibility to change their career plans, if they want.

A strict bio degree from Bucknell would definitely be valuable. So, you really can’t go wrong with either school. But, give some thought to what you’d like to do after you get your undergrad degree and how you would use it.
