Gettysburg vs. University of Rochester

Hi I could really use some help deciding between U of R and Gettysburg. I made a list of pros and cons but I still can't choose. My parents would rather see me go to Gettysburg but I kinda like U of R. Both seem to be complete opposite on the social life spectrum based on some of the posts I have read on other sites. Some say at U of R people are mean and don't want to talk to you because they are too busy studying. Gettysburg reviews say that the school is very preppy and snobs not to mention controlled by the frats.

Academics are also a huge concern. I want to do something in Biology but I'm not sure what. I know Rochester offers a lot of specialties in Biology but I never got to sit in a class and have no idea how good they really are. With Gettysburg, I'm concerned about the lack of specialty with majors; you can only choose between biology and biochemistry/molecular biology.

Please tell me as much as you can about the two schools. I could really use some help. Thanks.

ahh i applied ED to getty for their brilliant history program but got my first rej letter from them…maybe you could check out getty/U of R bio courses on iTunes U or schedule a campus visit or something…congrats and good luck anyway!

University of Rochester has an excellent biology program. Students at U of R must study hard but they are also social. Some of the nicest kids from the high schools in my town go to U of R. I would choose U Rochester because of better academics, better fellow students.

D is not a partyer but has made many friends at UR. Sure, they work really hard, and the pre-med people are stressed (self-imposed, for the most part), but the kids seem really down to earth.

She can always find something going on. If you are a partyer, at any college, you can find that kind of thing as well.
