Hearty Congrats from '08 Frosh

Hey Guys...
For those of you who have been accepted ED, congratulations! I have had the best three months of my life so far at Princeton. I'm happy that you will be joining me and my friends soon!

For those of you deferred, don't give up hope! I know many many people who were deferred and then admitted regula, or off the wait list.

For thos of you rejected, don't worry about it. All of my friends went to places in the same range as Princeton, and are all loving it. You will go to a good college. You will have a good time there. Don't stress and enjoy what remains of your senior year.

For those admitted, please reply with questions! I saw that Mike had done this earlier but for those of you who missed that, please reply. I am an Engineering Major in Wilson College. I am the newly-elected Business Manager of the campus humor magazine, perform with the Stand-up comedy club, was recently elected Academics Chair of Wilson College, and lost a tight race to a junior for the Academics Chair of the USG (Undergraduate Student Government.) I also play on the JV basketball team.
If you wish to contact me directly e-mail me at rdb@princeton.edu

Good luck with the end of the senior year. By the way, despite what some of the Rocky or Mathey people will tell you, Wilson is the best college. And it's never to early to start hoping!

Latas.

Most people haven't received their decision. Tomorrow is much more likely.

thank you! i hope i will be able to join u next year!

I'd love to ask you like a million questions right now, but I won't since I haven't gotten in...yet...or maybe never. Ugh. But anyways, thanks for coming around! I love it how all the '08ers are showing up on all the different boards. Good times, good times. We need more current Princetonians to come around!

Although I must say that mzhang holds it down quite nicely around here :)

Wilson sucks! Just kidding!

Rocky is the best, and we have the most money to spend of all the res colleges by far.

But pretty much all of the res colleges are ok. Maybe Butler is the worst, but even those guys take it pretty well.

Definitely ask questions about our experiences here, because showing up on campus completely clueless isn't a great thing to do.

I've hosted seven prefrosh this semester so far, so if any one of you admittees want to drop by my dorm and chat I won't be surprised and call pub safety on you.

mztwo@ if you want to contact me.

Once again, congratulations!

sits back to watch the tiger fight

joins Bree I love tiger fights...

do you even get like a little request form? or no? its completely random? I PRAY FOR ROCKY!

Right now I'd just be happy with an acceptance letter - the college of my choice seems like too much to ask for at this moment.

Haha, yeah, I've said it before and I'll say it again: I'll live on a molded-over, fungi-infested park bench if it means I can go to Princeton.

That's not nearly as bad as ilcapo's propositions. I think he ate a tampon?

oh god. AHHHHHHH i cant calm down. im seriously gonna like AHH! i wish i could just take some sleeping pills and knock myself out

Residential college placement is "random." There are a lot of factors that go into it, but it seems that marking down "3 roommates" seems to give you a high chance of placing you in Rocky.

That's the info that's been passed down to me from students inside the housing department office....

oooh, I want three roommates. That'd be fun.

Good to know, Mz. Thanks for all the insight and comfort you've given us on these boards, and thanks to you too, rdb9986, for the same things!

How many roomates do each of you have? What are your dorm rooms like?

And dorm/rescol life in general, if you please...

phil ill be ur roommate!!!! =P

I want a single dorm, as ilcapo said, I'm a "hermit crab" that needs to "hibernate"

ahhh, we'd be the coolest roomies ever, shrek. We'd have the most happenin' room in all of P-towwwwwn! Rocky/Mathey-side!

lol, enco

I have three roommates. I live in Little Hall, which is a really nice gothic dorm that is usually a senior dorm. however, since they're renovating Holder Courtyard this year we Rockyites get Little. My three roommates are ok, but the room is messy and smells like, as one female friend put it, "boy." Oh well. Amazingly, some of my closest friends here turned out to be a few of the girls in the quad across the hall. I'm their "unofficial" roommate now, haha.

There's too much to do that I hardly spend much time in my dorm anymore. Everyday there's several cool lectures by outside visiting professors to attend, as well as numerous performances. All performances are heavily subsidized by the University for students; at the beginning of the year we get a book of Tiger Tickets that can get us into a ton of campus events.

I also have a full week's collection of Princeton gear to wear, much of it being free (res colleges, etc give away free tshirts all the time). So don't overbuy Princeton gear, as you'll get plenty throughout the years. Especially lay off the buying too many sweatshirts before you're even here, since once class sweatshirts (<a href="http://www.princetonclassgear.com%5B/url%5D">www.princetonclassgear.com</a>) start arriving every year and the Ustore having 20% off sales all the time you might just find yourself with too big a sweatshirt collection.
