Hedge funds?

I know this might seem random, but is it possible for a high school student to work at a hedge fund? Im a junior now, and during the summer i would love to take an internship at a hedge fund, but i dont even know if its possible for a HS student. Any advice, suggestions would help, thanks

Im posting it here because of all you Wharton kids (i REALLY hope i will be one soon as well)

It is possible. I am a junior myself and I intern at a fund here.

The problem is its pretty hard to get through the door. Another problem is that you should ideally be located in the NYC or the Stamford, and Greenwich regions of CT as most funds are located there. Typically you would need contacts to make it through although it is possible for some firms to accept guys with no contacts (like myself). Takes quite a bit of luck to actually find contacts to fund and often it was in the most unlikely places (at least that was the case for me).

Most hedge funds are small (it doesnt take a lot of people to run funds in the 50-100 mill range) so you want to target mostly the mid sized to larger funds.

Here is a whole slew of funds: <a href="http://www.investmentseek.com/Investment_Managers/Hedge_Fund/index.htm%5B/url%5D">http://www.investmentseek.com/Investment_Managers/Hedge_Fund/index.htm</a></p>

thanks a lot. im in central jersey- a one hour train ride from NY.

Hmmm thats not too bad. Anyways, see if you can cold call or email some of those funds. Pretty much the only way.

thanks for all the help.
