Heelys? Haha.

My girlfriend and I have kind of argued about this. She thinks that people will think less of me for buying these shoes and sometimes using them to get to class faster. Basically, I don't want to have to carry a skateboard around all day.

So, if you saw someone zooming past you on these shoes in their 20's, what would you think of them?

I was thinking of getting them this upcoming Saturday, but I don't want to start off as a transfer student without any friends (and remain that way), lol.

I would think they were a cool person who liked efficiency.

That would be incredibly stupid.

I would think the same if they did so on a skateboard, just another way to get to class.

I’m gonna be straight up honest. Me and my friends would probably start laughing… hard. But after we had a good laugh, we wouldn’t care that you were wearing them the second time we saw you. The first time we will laugh though. Don’t be surprised if you see some people literally rolling on the floor laughing.

But if that’s your thing, go for it. But it would be easier to make friends if you didn’t… people can be really judgmental. Including me and my friends. :)

BUT IF YOU WANNA BE COOL. GET A LONGBOARD.

Do what you wanna do, but expect some strange looks

I’d laugh and move on. Do what you want :)

It’s a conversation starter! lol, I think it’d be kind of silly, but not a big deal. You don’t want someone who can’t appreciate funky footwear as a friend, am I right?

Fourth grade called. He wants his shoes back.

Considering I literally haven’t seen anyone wearing Heely’s since elementary school, I might find it a bit strange. That said, who cares what I think?

The only people that’ll really tease you aren’t worthy of being friends. You might get teased (playfully) by some, but those who ostracize you aren’t worth being around.

Honestly, if I saw someone doing that, I’d be amused but wouldn’t take that person very seriously (which is a good and a bad thing, I guess). If it’s what you like, go for it. The people who are worth having as a friend will appreciate you and your shoes.

I’d rather see someone in Heelys than someone on a skateboard if I were on campus. The only reason for that is that the skaters tend to not react to traffic as quickly (for obvious reasons).

Make sure your school rules allow them. Many colleges ban roller blades, Heelys might qualify.

Thank you, David. I did not know that many campuses ban roller blades. I’ve seen people on their skateboards but seeing someone with roller blades these days I wouldn’t exactly say is common. I’ll look into it.

Honestly, I only found out about them a week ago. :o Never knew about them in my entire life until I saw a couple people using them near LAX.

Yeah, I guess whoever really wants to be my friend would like me regardless of what kind of shoes I chose to wear. It’s just really for convenience. There’s a lot of good places to use them I found on campus to get to my classes quicker.

Invest in a unicycle they are much cooler. I have seen them being used on multiple occasions on campus.

^ If not trolling, where do you go?

OP, wear whatever you want, but the last time I’ve seen those shoes was probably when people were still using MySpace.

I’ve seen them around Appalachian State. Some guys are really good at it. ^

I would honestly be quite jealous if I saw someone strolling to class in Heely as I never had them as a child. Do they really make them in adult sizes? Haha

Just sayin, the difference in time between walking quickly and using heely’s isn’t gonna that much…def not worth the looks you’ll get from people. do what you like tho. it’s all up to you
