For those of you who took the AP exams, where did you have the scores sent? I mean, I know you get a copy yourself, and a cumulative one thereafter, but you have the choice to send the scores to four other colleges. I'm applying for class of 2012, so its not for another two years; am I right thinking its too early to be sending scores to colleges? I'm totally confused on this aspect.

Lily415, check on their website, but I'm sure you can leave it blank and send scores later.

On the other hand... it's never too early to establish contact with colleges you're interested in. Many schools track contact with students, and weigh demostrated interest over time into their admissions decisions.

I have no idea if sending early AP's will help in that regard, but in general, it's not too early to start contacting schools.

You need not send scores to colleges right away. My son waited until he was applying. (This gave him the chance to correct the AP records -- for some reason they had him as two different people, with some tests by one and the rest by the other. I've heard of others with mixups as well ...)

alrighty, thank you! I've never heard of that before, DianeR! How did you get that all sorted out?

My son called the College Board and explained the problem; they then sent a score report to us that had both sets of scores. It didn't prove to be difficult to sort out at all.
