<p>...Actually, I should provide some substance for this thread. What are some phrases commonly uttered here that irritate you to no end?</p>
<p>The occasional shriek of "EPIC FAIL~!" that I hear from excessively perky girls ****es me off, but "HELLA" will always be my number one source of rage.</p>

Many of us do get annoyed though because all of a sudden after entering college you meet a wave of people saying “hella” in every sentence. It’s like valley girls saying “like” every other word. All equally annoying, but tolerable in moderation! hehe</p>
<p>My TA from Texas kept saying “yall”. o_O</p>
<p>also remember that it’s hard to get out of the habit of saying something. although it is clear that some people unnecessarily/overuse “hella” & alsooo don’t be so harsh since i think that most people started to use it to be cool in the sense that their friends are saying it as well. not in the sense that they’re trying to say it just to be like “i’m so cool, i’m from norcal and use norcal slang”. it’s more so that it just so happens to be associated with norcal… if i even make sense.</p>

<p>Haha it’s entertaining how much some SoCal people hate the word. I have no idea why either, it’s not going to win any awards or anything but it’s not nearly as bad as some people exaggerate it to be. Get over it, it’s just a word.</p>
<p>Don’t be dissing the norcal slang. That’s just what they’re used to saying all the time, and they’re not forcing themselves to say it over and over to be cool, it was just the norm from where they were from. Damn. And yeah, I’m from SoCal and don’t get why people get so worked up about it.</p>
