So I'm from the Bay Area and we have pretty sterotypical slang. "Hella" and "Legit" are trusty friends.

So, CCers (the majority of whom seem to come from Florida?), what do people say in your area?

So, CCers (the majority of whom seem to come from Florida?), what do people say in your area?

Oh no no no the majority of CCers are in the New England area. Floridians, like myself, are quite outnumbered ;)

There’s no slang in my area, but maybe my job is wearing off on me and I’m getting that Cali talk. I’ve been saying legit a lot…not just regular a lot…a lot a lot.

Haha I feel like most CCers come from New England or the Bay Area :)

I’m from the Bay Area too! HELLAA all the way hahah love the bay. <3

Have’nt been back in good ol’ Texas long enough :/, but when i lived in Kentucky, I could’nt go a day without hearing “Thats fiya”, “She’s coooold”, “I’m lightweight mad”, or “She’s mud” How in the world do you call a girl mud!?! It was very entertaining though lol

Lightweight mad…I wouldn’t be able to take anyone seriously if they said that lol

In my specific city We definetly say YOLO and Thug Life a lot more than average. We also say dude a lot, but that’s a cali thing I guess.

Well, in a couple weeks I’ll be moving from “strawberry eegee’s on A Mountain” to “Hahvahd Yahd and Wustah.”

Thumbs up if you can recognize both places :)

Hella bay areaaa

In southern California I always hear “ratchet” used as an adjective and a noun to refer to a promiscuous, “ghetto” person.
Ex: “15 and pregnant? How ratchet!”

I live in Alaska, and we say YOLO and swag.

^ this. Swag is way overused in this state, seriously. It gets annoying, fast.

A lot of people (mostly preps I guess…) say stuff like:

gorge = gorgeous
welcs = welcome
K bye
totes = totally
etc…

When I was in Connecticut when me and my friends were making something come out humorous our sentences would be something like this " whatevs girl you know you flyer than her anywayyyy. Go out and partay." " YOLO FISH swag" we’re white of course haha. In Florida I hear a lot of Cali terms such as “fer sure” “dude” “legit” Connecticut is nothing as people make it out to be. Haha. No class!

People my age seem to think it’s cool and clever to say “totes cutsie” for anything slightly cute -.-

Leggo (I’m going to Walmart! LEGGO I’m gonna eat some steak! LEGGO etc) is another big one. It’s very annoying! xD

In the Bay Area, we do say “Hella” and “dude” a lot, but a lot of kids at my school also say swag, totes, YOLO, and other things that don’t belong in CA.

no thumbs up because you sound like a tourist (but I know what you mean)

I don’t know about slang though, stupid YOLO and all that.

@Elleya, yeah, couldn’t think of an accent for Tucson AZ…there isn’t really a Tucson accent.

^You’re the only person from Arizona I’ve seen so far on CC!

Swerve
Faded

Bubbler
TYME Machine
