i want to go a school that's not overly nerdy but i don't want to go to school with a bunch of idiots either. i don't want to go too far from home, so somehwere in MA, CT, PA, NY, VT, NJ, RI. i want a school with a good social scene, i'm not really looking forward to shutting myself in my dorm room for the next four years. i definitely don't want an all-girls school. i'd rather not go to an extremelyyyyy conservative school but it's not that important. i just want to find some laid-back people that know how to have a good time. i sound like a personals ad. anyways, here's my list:

-connecticut college (match)
-fairfield (safety)
-wesleyan (reach)
-trinity (match)
-stonehill (safety)
-clark (safety)
-villanova (safety)
-bucknell (match)
-lafayette (match)
-lehigh (match)
-muhlenberg (safety)
-dickinson (safety)
-hobart (safety)
-bennington (safety)
-middlebury (reach)
-providence (safety)

i'm going to major in psychology, so i want something with a good psych program cause i'll want to go to grad school for it.

feel free to add/subtract from that PLEASEEEEE.

Boston College
U Rochester
Syracuse
Bucknell
Villanova
Lafayette
Lehigh
Connecticut
Dickinson
Franklin and Marshall
Gettysburg

I wouldn't say that you need that many safeties...

By definition, a safety is a school that you know you'll get into. Just pick a few of your favorites, and cross the rest off of your list. There's no point in spending time and money on applications to schools that you probably won't even go to.

Urban, suburban, or rural? Approx. number of students?

the "safety schools" on there are like the ones that princetonreview.com said would be my safeties. and i know that i should cut those down but a lot of them are like my favs for some reason haha.

Nova and Providence arent safeties. Add BU.

Unless you raise your SAT's don't consider Bucknell and Conn college as safeties...more like reaches...While your GPA is impressive with your SAT 2 scores it could indicate grade inflation at your HS

i'm sure this doesn't make much of a difference but i meant to put that i got a 640 on math I. and i consider bucknell and connecticut matches, not safeties. which is why i wrote "match" next to them.

Try it this way: if you got into every school on your list, which would be the first you'd eliminate?

sorry for my mistake on your take of Conn and Bucknell as safeties not matches, but I still think that they could be reaches. What my DD learned is that college admissions are very unpredictable. DD got waitlisted at Bucknell and Conn( declined the W/L as she had enuf of a hard time deciding amonst the 8 she was accepted to), but accepted at BC. Her SAT"s were slightly higher than yours, only took 2 SAT 2's ( unsure of why the need to take so many SAT 2's) which were very good and her AP's were 5's...You might want to consider taking the ACT.....my DD wishes she had....most kids score higher on it.

thaaaaaaaanks to everyone. i've narrowed it down to a definite five (fairfield, connecticut, providence, stonehill, hobart) and i might visit wesleyan, trinity, bennington, and middlebury.
