Hello>New Member Here...

I was doing some research for the first paper of my MBA program and found this site. It seems to be extremely interesting so I thought I would register. I am a recent graduate from the University of Phoenix with my BSB/M and currently attending in my MBA. I'm extremely excited and already busy writing papers.

I do have a question to pose to those of you with your MBA already. Do you feel that individuals who have their MBA have a slimmer chance of being laid off than those who do not and if so, why?

I'm looking forward to meeting some interesting people and being a part of some interesting discussions.

Hello to you all!

Companies tend to layoff "overpaid" managers and cut spending on overpaid consultants before cutting lower level jobs, so my belief is that one with an MBA would tend to get laid off at a higher rate than the average joe schmo with an undergrad business degree. Obviously, this really depends on what you will be doing post-graduation and where you will be working.
