Hello parents! Good news for all the unchallenged kids!

<p>Okay, I'm not a parent, but I thought I would share about a wonderful program. It's called Early Entrance Program, and it allows gifted kids between the ages of 11- 15.5 to skip all or part of high school. That means they don't have to deal with all the drama, unnecessary busiwork, the SATs/ACTs/APs/whatnot. The program is located in California, but many people have moved across the country for this program.</p>

I think however, that most of the parents probably have kids that are past the age of entering most of these programs ( not to mention that some of us actually have "average" kids ;) )</p>

<p>Actually, the UWashington program is not for unchallenged kids--at least not the ones who get bored and have bad grades as a result. We looked at it for my son, but he didn't qualify because his middle school grades weren't high enough.</p>

<p>When I said unchallenged, I meant school's boring, but they still have good grades. Well, in most cases anyway.</p>

<p>I didnt know exactly what you had to do for it- one of Ds best friends was an EEPer, and she started at the oldest age of 14, after her family decided it was a better deal than 4 years at Lakeside.</p>

<p>And I agree- that unless you have been academically successful, not just bored, most of these programs won't accept you.</p>

<p>Well, you don't need to be THAT successful academically, because sometimes, when people are bored, they don't try on tests and stuff. </p>

<p>That's why they have you take an entrance exam. THAT's the thing they look at (at first), although you do need to submit transcripts once you pass the entrance exam</p>
