I go to a small school in iowa. 75 kids in my class. I'm top 10%. I'd be number 1 in the school if we weighted GPA, because I've taken the hardest course load in my class. The only class I've gotten an A- in is Child Development! hahaha.

I'm really passionate about going to Stanford. Any help with anything would be awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I personally think your strongest route to get into Stanford would be through sports. I’ve noticed that Stanford tends to be inclined towards talented people. Whether it is through sports to music, Stanford definitely has a soft spot for talent (I, myself a violinist for 13 years now, got in, as well as many of my musical/sport friends). I only know one person (that is a friend of mine) that didn’t have a talent that got into Stanford. Definitely try to raise your ACT, and maybe try the SAT I. You never know if you’re better at the SAT than the ACT (even though most people I’ve noticed are better at ACT). Definitely just show your passion in everything you do, and best of luck to you.

Agreed with a previous post

Stanford likes people who are very good at sports and also people with entrepreneurial qualities. You should focus on the most glowing things in your resume and through them show your passions. Your academics are fine just raise your ACT bu 2/3 points and you will be good to go

Remember your “Why Stanford” essay matters as well

Were your sport friends recruited athletes?

Well I just got into stanford and what really made the difference was my why stanford essay. I had my hook at the end, and a dean actually sent me a handwritten letter quoting it.

That said, essays are the most important. You could be the smartest kid ever but if your essays suck you have no chance.

Also, applying REA is important if stanford is your number one choice. admit rates are higher REA anyways.

How did you make your essays so great?
