Help! A college for music and English?

I need a lot of help. It's getting down to the wire, and I am unhappy with my college choices.
Boston University was my number one choice, but I can't apply there because I didn't take the SAT IIs. I want to double major in English and music, and I'm having a lot of difficulty finding a place that is excellent in both programs. I want conservatory style teaching, and a serious music environment for me to pursue voice performance, but also a strong English program. I don't have much time, and I could really use some input:

Here are my stats:
SAT: 700 Verbal/590 Math/540 Writing
Class Rank: 21 out of approximately 180
GPA -- 3.68
AP Classes: I've taken the following AP classes, and received the scores in the parentheses. Statistics (1), Environmental Science(3), US History(3). I'm currently taking AP English and AP Government. Generally, I've taken the hardest classes available to me.
Extracurriculars: Section leader in choir, cantor at church, and a member of many service clubs and academic clubs. I play varsity soccer and have a job at a health store.
I'm female, live in Virginia, and attend a very rural school where few students go to college, and neither of my parents attended college.

Here are the colleges that I'm applying to currently:
Duquesne
JMU
Roanoke College
Shenandoah University
Syracuse
UVA

I'm not really satisfied with my list right now. None of them really seem to fit what I am looking for. Being strong in both voice and English is most important to me. I also want a place where one group doesn't dominate..a school filled with fun, smart, intellectual people and maybe even a little eclectic and funky, not snobby. Please help!

Bennington College
Sarah Lawrence College
University of Miami

W&M, UMd, rutgers

Take a look at Lawrence University in Wisconsin. It's a very good LAC that, like Oberlin, also has a music conservatory. For that matter, look at Oberlin too.

You look at Indiana? Sorry you cant go to BU. You could always apply to CGS. We dont need SAT IIs :)

I second MilWDad's suggestion of Lawrence University in Wisconsin. Really excellent music conservatory and a terrific music program as well. Some of the other suggestions were great as well. You may also want to check out these schools as possibilities: Bard, Goucher College, Skidmore, Kenyon, SUNY Purchase, St. Olaf (Minn), U of Rochester, Denison, College of Wooster.

also look at Ithaca College in upstate NY

The best way to get conservatory style training is to go to a conservatory. Many provide excellent opportunities for a double degree. You might want to check the music major forum. There is a wealth of information in the old threads.

i second rochester

Northwestern has a 5 year double degree program. Your SATs are a bit low, though.

Rochester has both a conservatory (Eastman) and a research university with an excellent English department. You can take a joint degree, following, of course, an audition at Eastman.
