hi i'm a freshman and i was wondering if you guys could suggest anything or help me in any way...thanks
Schedule: Biology I B, Honors World Geography, advanced math II, Honors Lit, Spanish II
EC's: travel baseball for 6years, helped kids play baseball
GPA: 3.4
just took psat

No need to worrry about college for now just keep that GPA and get a good ACT score and you will be fine

The only thing you can do right now to help your college profile is to get a 4.0 freshman year. Maybe plan/start some leadership projects for the summer

During winter break you can think some about what you want to do during the summer, and you can plan out your classes for next year. If you ever think of an interesting sentence/phrase/idea, write it down…it might be useful for essays later on.

(I think I would have benefited from thinking about this stuff freshman year…not obsessing over it like people on here do, but when I was a freshman I didn’t even think I was going to go to college, and I didn’t really care much about any of it. My resume would be a lot better if I had known then what I know now.)

Also look at volunteering places and more EC’s that can end up being leadership roles in the future

And talk with your parents about the money. The sooner you know your family’s limits, the better.

thank you guys for all the help ill definitely take your advice

I would take a look at what classes the valedictorians and salutatorians are taking and take a similar course load. Getting an early start in sat/act prep also never hurt. The best piece of advice I can give, though, is to enjoy your high school experience; it’s over in the blink of an eye! Find things you love and are passionate about and do them. Don’t spend all your time doing things you hate just so it’ll look good on a college application. In the end, colleges will be interested to see what YOU like doing!
