Help a Future English Major Out

Hey everyone!

I'm a high school senior in Northern California, and right now I'm thinking about becoming an English major. So far my main goal is to study writing and photography and work as a freelance writer/photographer. I've won numerous awards in both subjects. I really want to go to Cal State East Bay since they literally have everything I want to study.

Does anyone have any comments on that school? Or suggestions on the best place to study English in California?

Most English programs are heavy into literature, criticism, and writing. Unless you’re very interested in literature and writing about literature, a better option would be journalism or communications. But if literature is your thing, you can’t go wrong with Cal, UCLA, Stanford & Pomona.
