Help a Junior, low GPA, HIGH SAT! LATE BLOOMER!

I had it on, but I hear it’s not in a same area of Philly, which is why I’m leaning towards Drexel more. BUT they have abroad options, I would love to go Temple in Japan, etc.

The main thing that intrigues me about Drexel is their Business and Engineering program which sounds awesome and one of a kind.

Can anyone else provide input? I’m also leaning towards majoring in Finance+Entrepreneurship (double major), or International Business if that helps.

[University of Dayton : Undergraduate: School of Business Administration](<a href=“Department of MIS, OSC and Business Analytics : University of Dayton, Ohio”>Department of MIS, OSC and Business Analytics : University of Dayton, Ohio)

A person who works for me majored in Entrepreneurship and did study abroad in Asia (Thailand, Japan, Korea, etc). New student housing being built right now, too.

That’s pretty cool. If you din’t mind me asking why did you hire him? Was it his study abroad experience?

Not for his study abroad. He was engaging during the interview, had been on the group that invested a portion of the Us endowment (competitive selection), and had econometrics classes.

So you own your company? From your experience, what majors are good? Do you think finance + international business major and an entrepreunership minor is smart? Or accounting, MIS, econ, comp sci, or other majors to be safer?

Look into Bentley University. It’s in Waltham, Massachusetts (suburban Boston), specializes in business, and has a nice campus. My daughter just did a high school leadership program there and I was impressed with the campus. [Home | Bentley University](http://www.bentley.edu/)

OP, I don’t own my own company. I’m a manager in a consulting firm. For safety I might recommend Comp Sci. There always seem to be openings in that field.

I think you’ll have a lot of good options. The trajectory is not that uncommon, and really strong grades soph & junior years & first half of senior year will be telling. You might try calculating your UC gpa.

What other schools ignore grades earned in 9th grade?

I think UC’s and CSU’s do. My soph and junior year were strong, and i’m gonna work hard senior year. What schools do you think I have good options at?

Comp, MSI or IT sound interesting for a minor or something.

How about any schools in NY? I love the state, but I’m leaning more towards the city.

Like Fordham back in Post #8?

I knew fordham, but is that the only school available?

Bumppp! Anyone please? Looking at schools in NY, cali, chicago-indiana-ohio area, texas, florida, east coast, etc. Need a business school with good connections and hopefully a good study abroad program.

Also, I just received my ACT scores, I scored a 28 composite. 29 math, 29 science, 28 reading, 25 english.

DePaul (Well connected in Chicago), Pitt, Indiana Bloomington (you won’t get direct admit to Kelly Business School there but you’ll get into the University).

I have pitt and Indiana on my list. I’ll look into DePaul. Why wouldn’t I get into the business school? Is there a way i can get in later?
