first of all…dont tell me that "why are you applying, you have no chance."i am still applying.
okay so I was really dumb…I took the act 3 times…first time I got a 28, second time (a low score) and third time a 30. on common app i said I took it 3 times. then where it lists write your highest subsection scores from dates. i did the first act fro my reading and english score and the last act for my math and science score. unfortunately, i was being stupid and my essay score was highest on the second act (which was my lowest composite score), but i still wrote the essay score from that act on here. I don’t mind sending in the 28 and the 30 to colleges…but i really don’t want to send in the second one because it is bad— i was really sick that day. and ugh. is it ok if I just send in the first and last act score? after all, the ones on common app are self reported…
thanks
and please no rude comments.
someone please help…the deadline is tomorrow…
It is not clear to me what your question is but I’ll try to help. I think it is okay to report your best scores on your Common app because you would be sending those to all schools anyway. The CA does not require you to send all your scores. Cornell however, does require ALL scores so when my son applied, we sent his entire testing history for the ACT and SAT and SAT 2s.
@1203southview basically…i listed 3 scores on common app, but i only now want to officially send in 2 because one of them extremely low for cornell standards.
@1203southview also frankly i don’t have enough money to even afford to send 2 of them let alone 3.
@ivyhopefulebound I privately emailed the admissions office and they quoted “We do, however, superscore. We ask that you please send all scores.”
Btw 30 is not a bad score. I’ve definitely seen people get admitted with those scores. Just make sure to send them ALL because if they find out, they could reject you for not following their policy.
@airspirit wait, i don’t understand. what did you email them? my superscore is the same as my composite so sending the low act doesn’t actually do anything…

“Hi, I’m applying to Cornell and I have a question regarding score choice. Do you require applicants to send ALL ACT scores? Or just the highest?”
They replied:
“Cornell does not utilize score choice. We do however super score. We ask that you please send all scores.”
Hope this helps!
Cornell requires that all scores be sent. I know for SATs, it is the same low price to send all tests even if you took 8 rather one. I don’t know if the ACT would charge twice for 2 scores to be sent or is it the same one price? If you really don’t have the money, I wonder if there are waivers that Cornell can provide. What I do know is that they demand all scores and you risk being eliminated if they find out you didn’t send them all.
It really doesn’t matter what you reported on the CA. You need to send official test scores from the testing agency. You get four free scores sent if you designate when you sign up. I know kids probably don’t do this as they want to make sure they are sending their best results, but since Cornell does not utilize score choice you could have taken advantage of a free send.
If you really can’t afford it, talk to your GC.
