Help Alexandre!: Honors Math and Trimesters questions:

By the time I am done with high school, I will have most likely finished these math courses: Calculus BC (A), Calculus III (A), Linear Algebra (A), Differential Equations, Real Analysis, and Modern Algebra. I am projecting all A’s and a few A-'s. If I do apply to the Honors Math, how hard is it to get in? I have a 1470 (800 M), and will probably end up with 1500 with more studying. Also, exactly how hard are the Honors Mathematics I/II and Honors Analysis I/II? My classes cover the same material, but have less emphasis on proofs, but still have a medium amount of emphasis. I’d really like to skip those courses, so should I?
2.What’s up with the trimester thing? Do most students take classes during only take classes in the fall and winter, and take off the 3rd one, or do they do all 3? Are a lot of classes offered in the spring/summer trimester?

Thanks.

Yes, if you took Calculus I, II< II and Linear Algebra, you should place out of a few of them...though perhaps not all of them. Definitely out of Calc I and II. Make sure you take the AP exam. A 5 on AP BC will place you out of Calc I and II.

As for the Trimester term, it is really no different than the Semester term (maybe two weeks shorter). You only take two a year to graduate in 4 years, assuming to take 15 credits/semester.
