ok guys. i need help figuring out what colleges i'm qualified for.
i'm madly in love with university of notre dame and university of illinois at urbana champaign (i want to major in engineering)
gpa- 3.9
act- 31

e.cs
debate team- very involved all through high school
REACH- drug awareness group- also very involved
volunteer at local library
member of class council
involved in school orchestra
summer internship at a local engineering firm
competitive figure skater (various awards from this)
several figure skating shows
taught figure skating to small children and kids with disabilities (volunteer work)

what do you guys think?? are there other schools i should look at?

I think you have a shot at either with your scores. Are you from Illinois?

yep :)
i'm having trouble figuring out where to go to school b/c it will cost so much to travel back and forth for holidays and such if i end up on either of the coasts :(

A friend of mine from high school had similar stats and went to Notre Dame for ChemE. I think you have a solid chance. Good luck.

what about u of chicago or northwestern

as far as i know northwestern doesn't have a very well-known engineering program and both schools are a little bit closer to home than i'd like. they're both fantastic schools though!

Northwestern is probably better than notre dame, not quite as good as illinois-uc. A great engineering program nonetheless.

where do you live - because northwestern is like 15 mins away from my home and im having the same worries about it being too close!

uchicago doesnt have engineering by the way....

anyway, since youre an illinois resident

Notre Dame- slight reach
UIUC- safe match

i live in napervillleeeee so northwestern is a bit more than 15 min away, but still close enough that it's concerning...

wow yeah, im REALLY close

by any chance, do you know pat garvin or jack nicholson?? theyre my cousins and they live in naperviiiilllleeee

lol nope dunno them

You should be able to get into UIUC with ease.
