Hi. I am an international student and have applied to the USA for an undergraduate degree in architecture.

Accepted : Syracuse, Ohio State, Louisiana State, Savannah College of Art and Design(scholarship).

Awaiting : New York Institute of Technology, RISD, Pennstate, Pratt, Urbana Champaign, and Temple.

Can I please have some feedback on the rankings of the schools for architecture, campus facilities, teacher student ratio, and other important information? Thank you.

Hi Prateek,

I have my B. Arch from Pratt, so I can only really comment on that school.

From what I know, Pratt’s facilities have much improved over the years, especially since the school of architecture building was renovated. Pratt is a small-ish campus compared to some of the other schools you mentioned.

Pratt is usually in the top 15 or so, and I think currently it is considered somewhere between 10 and 12.

As for teacher-student ratio, I remember it being about 15 to 18 students to a professor in Design Studio.

Architecture students usually spend 20 hours a day in studio. So be prepared! Many students dropped out within the first one or two years from what I remember. Plus architecture is insanely expensive.

Good Luck!

In your case, the financial aspect should be the top priority. But, if you come from a wealthy family and money is not a problem I’d go to Syracuse.
