Help and chance a hopeful Junior for HYPSM: Need advice for tailoring app

You’re going to shoot yourself in the foot by “tailoring” your application to these schools.

Adcoms at these colleges will notice the pseudopassion on your application which will not do you any favors.

You’re on the right track as others said, if I were you, I would focus on which school is the best FIT for you and go EA/REA/ED/SCEA.

Don’t do things that colleges like to see, do them because you want to.

Like your chemistry Olympiad? You said you like chemistry, you can make that show not only through your achievements, but your essays as well.

Best of luck

SpaceDuck I really do have passion for most of these things. To be honest, I don’t care about volunteering at all, and I haven’t tried to make a big deal about it. I genuinely enjoy academic team, chemistry, and math, and those are the things that I’ve been trying to push at my school.

However, I realize that the admissions process is… buggy. I like to think of myself as ambitious, and it frightens me that someone with my stats might still be rejected from the top institutions. I’m willing to do what it takes to get into these colleges, even if they’re not truly genuine activities.
