Help!!! AP exam issue

My AP coordinator just won’t refund my exam fee unless I provide a medical reason!! But I don’t want to take the exam and I want my money back! I searched on the collegeboard and it says I should be able to receive a partial refund!

What should I do???

Refund policies are set by the school. So, take the exam or get a medical excuse or resign yourself to the fact that you won’t get your money back.

But the thing is, I was basically forced into taking the exam in the first place. My AP coordinator said I will never be able to take any AP exam if I didn’t take the AP physics exam because I signed up for the AP physics class. I never knew that signing up for the AP physics class meant that I would be forced to take the exam

Generally if a school requires a student taking an AP class to take the AP exam, it will explicitly say so in the course catalog/sign-up sheet and/or the school will require the student and parent(s) sign an AP contract. If that was not the case, you might have an argument to make. Otherwise, you are out of luck.

Why don’t you just take the exam? If you don’t do well you don’t have to report the results to colleges.

I know I won’t do well… That’s why I’m trying to get a refund.
