HELP! AP prep books!

I'm taking AP Bio, AP Chem, WHAP, and AP Chinese next year...
any advice on prep books?

bump. please help me

I’d suggest combing through the Consolidated Book suggestions thread at the top of this forum.

Lot of work, but you’ll get answers.

For bio, I recommend Barrons ap biology. It goes into detail and covers mostly everything but lacks in some areas. To fill the gaps, I suggest supplementing with another book, preferably a text book. You can use other prep books, but a textbook is ideal. Also, Youtube is your best friend. Bozeman Biology is an excellent channel.

For chem, I’ve heard good things about Barron, PR, and 5 Steps to a Five

keep in mind that the new biology test focuses more on critical thinking so as long as you have a general knowledge of the concepts and why they happen like they happen, you’ll do fine.

For WHAP, probably 5 steps to a 5. ( I may be a little biased, but I’ve never really liked PR. :frowning: ) I have both books. I like 5 Steps to a 5’s practice questions better, but I read both of the overviews in regards to content.

For Chemistry, your TEXTBOOK IS YOUR BEST FRIEND. Just please- read the textbook. Even with a prep book, teacher, and notes, the textbook goes far more in-depth. Also, taking the practice exam that’s up helps too! You may also want to practice some FRQs.
I suggest buying Tro Chemistry for a textbook if you want to do this, but then again it may not be fitting for your review/study style. I just read the textbook, studied really hard, and got a five.

I want to get back to you on Chinese, maybe… I’m a native speaker and not planning to take the test, but hopefully some friends have taken the test.

Good luck on your APs next year!
