Help brainstorming?

I have been trying to start Swarthmore's second supplement essay for AGES now, since the summer, and I still haven't gotten even one word down. It's the only essay I have left to write, and since Swarthmore is my first choice, I'm getting more and more anxious about it.

Can anyone please help me start brainstorming? I honestly have no clue where to start, what to write about, etc.

The prompt:

Swarthmore's residential liberal arts community is shaped by its intellectually and culturally vibrant members, who come together to learn and grow through their shared and unique experiences. Briefly discuss how your academic and life experiences would inform, affect, and strengthen our community of thinkers.

Everyone who goes to Swarthmore has a high GPA and test scores, and their ECs are probably similar, too: some sports, student government, community service, etc.

What makes you stand out from the rest of the high achievers?

What are you academically good at? What are you passionate about, and why? Do you love science? Math? history?
Write down a list, and just brainstorm. Don’t think too hard about it. I hope this helps.

Write some small things that happened in ur life and how it shaped ur personality
Don’t just write I love writing/I love reading or something
Show the AO that u are a deep thinker.

It’s so cool you’re considering swarthmore! I just found out that I got into Bryn Mawr so I’ll probably take classes there  Bryn Mawr’s supplement was really similar, I think that the best piece of advice for this type of prompt that my college advisor told me is to be REALLY specific. Talk about what types of specific programs that you will take advantage of at Swarthmore, and what SPECIFIC things you have to offer (don’t just say things like “i’m hardworking”).

Oh and good luck!!
