I have been literally crying the past week in anticipation of my Hopkins letter. I can't handle this suspense. Please please please please please, look at my last thread an chance me. I need to get some responses to ease my pain or I need to plant it in my head that I am not getting accepted. Please be as honest as possible. Yes, I am fully aware that I am overreacting. Thank you so much everyone. I'll be more than happy to chance back. i need something to get my mind off this lol.

Please consider taking a gap year and getting some therapy. Pressures are highly selective colleges can be great and you need the tools to handle it.

Hmmm that was amusingly ignorant. I don’t remember asking for therapeutic advice. I do however remember asking for a response on my thread chance though. Typically I would be grateful for a critique and work to fix it. But those tend come from down-to-earth individuals that are trying to help a fellow human being rather than from conceited “Brown Parents” that think I need psychiatric help. If I was unable to handle pressures, i would not have the resume I am proud to call my own today. So, I suggest that you use that Brown intellect of yours, to actually contribute productive advice in this forum as opposed to suggesting that anxious students consider getting medical help.

@DocSteven, I don’t think @BrownParent was trying to be conceited or patronizing (then again, just because it’s a stressful time doesn’t mean we need medical attention). I do agree with you, though - it was a pretty unhelpful reply. I looked at your old thread, and I think your GPA and extracurriculars are great for JHU, but your test scores are kind of on the low end (well below the middle 50% for JHU). Therefore, I’d say it’s a low reach - your essays and recs could give you that push you need though! :)

I agree that it is a low reach. That SAT score could hurt you, but everything else looks good.
