HELP! Chance me please.

Hi guys!, I’m really hoping to get into Johns Hopkins through ED. Please tell me my chances

GPA (rising senior): 3.98/4.0 (unweighted)
ACT: 34
SAT II: Bio E (790), (Math II 800)
AP Courses/ scores: Physics, Bio, stats, calc BC, chem, macro (5,4,5,5,5,4)
courseload: pretty rigorous

ECs: Nothing special (pretty bland actually)- research intern over summer, hospital volunteer 250+ hours, fast food restaurant worker, varsity basketball senior year, NHS,

Awards: states BPA, HOSA states finalist (medical terminology), ap scholar with distiction, local math competition

Essays: generic, nothing special. I’m a really bad writer

You’re definitely qualified academically. But you won’t get in with the mindset that your extracurricular activities are bland, lol! A passion for research and community service are both great assets for a school like Hopkins. Capitalize on that. Also, highlight your being a fast food worker, since it’s one of your more unique ECs. And “generic” isn’t good enough for an essay; they all have to be nothing short of stellar. This will be where you can really shine and present yourself as more than just a cookie-cutter applicant.

Your ECs and essays are going to be the deciding factors here, because Hopkins is at the level of prestige where good stats don’t make you competitive; they’re a basic expectation.
