Okay, I am a junior in high school and deciding what science to take senior year- IB Biology SL or IB Physics SL.
I have not taken regular physics, but have taken regular biology (it is required at my school).
I originally planned to take IB Biology SL because it is what I am thinking of majoring in in college and am very interested in it. However, I have heard from several people that if I want to be a science major in college it is a good idea to take Physics in high school.
I know that physics is important and it would help prepare me for college, but I really wanted to take Biology and I greatly dislike the only IB Physics SL teacher we have at my school.

So what do you suggest I should do? Just go through with physics or enjoy myself in biology? Any responses would be helpful.

If it helps, I am looking at applying to SUNY Stony Brook, Suny Binghamton, RIT, and a few more.
Plus, I am unable to double up on sciences due to my schedule.
I need help fast, because it is near the end of the year and I need to tell my guidance counselor ASAP.

hey i’m in the same boat, so i have nooo idea! except that i take ap’s…so yea ur situation seems to be worse than mine! if i were you, i’d take physics just because you haven’t taken one yet. i think it’s pretty important to have had exposure to all 3 sciences in high school. who knows…maybe you’ll end up liking the teacher…unless u’ve had him/her already. idk exactly how IB works but u’re gonna be taking lots of bio classes in college if u major in that so why not learn something else and see if u like it or not? maybe u r secretly a physics-lover but you don’t know yet.

for me, i have had all 3 sciences plus ap chem. now i’m just deciding between ap bio and ap phys c…
