My focus for my major/EC's is linguistics/foreign languages. My school offers almost all of the popular AP courses, excluding AP psych and AP enviro). I want to take 6 classes next year(not including PE), which must include Brit Lit, a science course(i've taken bio, college psych, & chem H), a social studies course (ive taken world and us history), and a math course (i've taken up to H precalc & trig). I'm looking at colleges around the level of Emory.

This is the schedule I'm planning on:
Physics (super easy course--projected A+)
Econ (S1--A+)/AP US Gov (S2--B+)
AP Calc AB(A-)
AP English Lang (A- ? not sure)
PE/Health
Brit Lit(A+)
AP French (A)

Some other options are with projected grades: AP Art History (need art credit eventually), AP Stats(A)--might want to save for senior year to take instead of BC calc, AP Chem(B+), AP Bio(A-), AP World (B+), Latin I, Spanish I, and Chinese I.

I think that for your major, you are doing fine. I just don’t know how you will be able to finish APUSH in one semester. If anything, also try to take AP Human Geography(easy and you learn about human development and cultures) and AP Euro (Hard, but you have background from world history). Try to load on history classes in addition to your languages.

I am also a current sophomore and this is the schedule I’m planning on:
AP Lang (dont know how hard)
Financial Independence (required class super easy A+)
Sports Medicine (also super easy A+)
AP Spanish (super easy A or A+)
AP Stats (A- or A)
AP Calc AB (A)
AP Chem (A- or A)

If it helps this is my projected schedule for senior year:
AP Lit
AP Calc
AP Physics
AP US Government
AP European History
Ap Psychology (wanted to take junior year but not enough room)

My focus is Medicine (pretty obvious lol), but since your focus is linguistics try to see if you can add another english elective course (like speech and debate or writers craft) and try to join the french club (if available) make sure to make your interests obvious! But overall you have a good challenging schedule!

3.5 APs are ok (Emory level) but if you are trying to secure your admission as much as possible try to stay a little above what they want. So yes if you can try to subsitute some of your easier classes (like physics) with AP that would be good, like at my school Physics is required but my guidance conselor said I don’t have to take it since I am taking all three AP science courses! Talk to your guidance counselor about what you want and they will be able to help since every school is different!
