HELP!! college admissions

<p>hello i'm a junior at a private school
im an international student from korea.
i had 1900 for my sat scores
had one b in APUSH
i had an a in world history but got 2 in the exam
my score for world history subject test was 600 out of 800
ive been in honors english course since my sophomore year, planning to take AP English next year
i had 800 out of 800 on korean with listening subject test
i took 3 years of science: bio, physics, and anatomy
took 3 years of math: geometry, algebra 2, trig planning to AP CALC next year
2nd year in spanish
2nd year in art but planning to take AP ART next year</p>

<p>i've been a manager of the varsity basketball team for 3 years,
went to mexico for missions trip for 3 years during the summer,
and currently am a volunteer for saturday school in church for 2 years.</p>

<p>i'm the junior rep for sound crew
i'm vp for red cross club</p>

<p>im planning on appying USC, UCLA, UCSD, UCI, BU, NYU, and Princeton</p>

<p>my questions are:
1. do ap scores matter in admissions or is it just the grade in that class that matters?
2. i've been absent quite alot yet was excused

since 08/29/11 - 03/10/12
does the absence matter for admission?
3. i've been receiving letters from colleges (USC was one of them) something about explore the benefits of attending their colleges
does this mean i'm more likely to be accepted to those places?</p>

<p>I’m a Korean student as well, but I moved to America when I was five.</p>

<p>1) I’ve been told by numerous college representatives that AP scores are not heavily considered, but are seen. </p>

<p>2) My school did not send the number of times I was absent to my colleges. Colleges don’t require the number and unless your school sends it, the number will not be seen.</p>

<p>3) No, those are generic letters (and emails) sent by companies hired by colleges to generate interest among students who score above a certain point on the SATs or any other standardized score.</p>
