Help!! College decisions

<p>Hey everyone,</p>

<p>My friend got accepted to three Colleges : Hofstra, Boston University and Georgia State University. He is a Georgia resident. He really likes Boston and Hofstra, but can't choose between the two. As a Georgia student, he qualifies for HOPE, but he wants to go out of state, because his OOS choices are much stronger. </p>

<p>The main problem is that he doesn't get much financial aid and Boston and Hofstra are extremely expensive and going to these colleges will be very financially demanding on his family. </p>

<p>He was planning on working during college, to help pay the tuition, but I advised him against it, because i thought it would be hard for him to focus on school. </p>

<p>He was wondering which college he should choose. The financial aspect is a large part of his decision, but he should get the best education. </p>

<p>I was wondering if I could get anyone's opinion of the pros and cons of each school in helping him decide.</p>

<p>Any advice would be greatly appreciated, as college decisions are due by May 1st. </p>

<p>Okay. BU over Hofstra ANY day on the simple category of academic merit. </p>

<p>But if he cannot afford either, go to the state school. There is not such a big difference in the quality of education of any of those schools. Going into tremendous debt simply isn’t worth it.</p>
