Hi I am a high school student living in N. Cali....just wanted to ask a question to princeton admits about my chances......
So far in terms of grades I had managed fairly well, but what worries me are two things: a C in english elective class in first semester freshman year and a B in honors chemistry for first semester in sophmore year. Except for these two horrible mistakes, other classes are all As'. I managed to replace the C with an A from a comm. college course, but the C still shows in my transcript, although my high school cumulative GPA is raised. Would this C in freshman year, combined with the B in my sophomore year totally destory my chances to princeton? I am pretty strong in terms of test scores and ECs......but still, would these two bad letter grades kill my chances entirely...? Does princeton admissions take high school freshman grades seriously or just disregard them entirely? Any comment or feedback would be greatly appreciated.

princeton does not look at freshman year grades =P and i got admitted with 2 Bs and i know plenty of people who have been admitted with more Bs so dont worry =P

but no Cs....=( even though i took a course equivalent the local comm. college and got A, the C still shows =(

ur C was from freshman year

k good, no problem

sorry to hijack the thread but I got 2 c's through my high school career, a c in a precalculus course(taken at a cc over the summer, later got an a+ in a college calc bc course ) and a c in AP Chem(got an A in an organic chemistry course)

does the fact that I dramatically improved my grades make up for them, my transcript is also sprinkled with B's. But, once again, I have taken all AP +college classes for the past 2 years and will have 30+ college credits by hs graduation and am a national ap scholar...I sure hope this makes up for those 2 C's

how competitive is your school...? that's pretty important. I'm worried cuz mine is public and it isn't as competitive.

pretty competitive

it might be ok then......as long as the number of Bs is not too many

bump.....can people please view my question
