Hi! I need some advice on the 2014-2015 common application essay. The prompt that I have interest in is prompt #1.
It reads:
Some students have a background or story that is so central to their identity that they believe their application would be incomplete without it. If this sounds like you, then please share your story.

I'm planning to write about my visit back to my country around a year ago. I'm planning to write about what I thought about while I was there. During the vacation, I realized how my life has changed since the last time I was there, which was like five years before that vacation. It was the same place, but the feeling I had was different from how I used to feel. At first, I was quite excited and I thought I would feel like I'm back home again. But when I got there, the feeling I had was actually strange and foreign. During my absence, the place changed a lot and so did I. Also, my relationship with my grandma and my cousins weren't as great; I was feeling disconnected with them throughout the whole vacation. I realized that I've been so focus on school and on myself that I haven't even been talking to them on the phone as much as I used to. That might have caused the gap between us. That vacation was what made me reflect on how my life and my relationship with my family used to be, and how it is now. It also made me think about how my life will be like in the future, and what I want to do with my life (in terms of my education, my future career, myself, and my family).

I'm still working on the essay, but based on my ideas, would this answer the question about my background and identity as asked in the prompt.
