HELP concerning "hippie" college

I'm a sophmore in high school and have begun looking at colleges. I have a GPA of 3.9 and my PSAT scores were fairly high, much higher than everyone else at my school because I go to a not-so-great public high school in Maryland.
Well anyways, I want to move out of state for college and want to go somewhere kind of "hippie-ish". I want to go somewhere with really cool and laid back people, not full of hipsters and preps. I'm not aiming for a really hard college, I plan to party in college if you know what i mean:) But still, ive gotten pretty good grades in high school and dont want to go to a community college or anything.
So pretty much, a laid back college thats into partying and having fun, with pretty surrondings and kind of hard but not to hard on the academics.OH AND A CO ED COllEGE
Thanks for the help
btw im a girl if that helps any

UC Santa Cruz

Warren Wilson College
UNC Asheville

Lol yeah, UC Santa Cruz.
I know about 5 people going there and they all love it. They say the people are hella chill and it’s an overall great time. Also, it’s next to the beach and the campus is gorgeous. Academics aren’t that hard, either.

Reed…

Hofstra’s pretty hippie I think

I think UNCW is more along the lines of what the OP is looking for than Warren Wilson or UNCA.

A lot of the Florida schools come to mind. New College of Florida especially, but maybe Eckerd or Rollins as well.

Reed as a “laid back college thats into partying and having fun” and a “not really hard school”?!

Lots of my kids’ friends attend UNCW. There’s not one hippie-ish kid among them.
S2’s one sort of hippie-ish friend who went there disliked it and transferred to Appalachian State where she’s very happy. Forgot to mention ASU in first post.

Hendrix College, maybe.

Sounds as if you might like Florida State University, Arizona State University, and to a extent Indiana University and University of Wisconsin Madison.
You may like those schools, great in academics, large in partying, and seems to fit your criteria.

Reed. It’s definitely the kind of school you’re looking for.

Appalachian State University FTW

oh damn i didn’t realize you’re from MD. St Mary’s for sure

Reed is a great school and has a hippie feel, but it is a very intense academic environment. Look at Lewis & Clark in Portland.

^
I thought the OP was not looking for a school with a hippie feel which is why I would not suggest Reed. OP is looking for a school between hippie and preppy.

I suggested:

oregon in eugene

“OP is looking for a school between hippie and preppy.”

let me re decribe. blazing, apreciating cool music, and hangin with really laid back people. The reason i said “hippiesh” is for those three things. And Thats what I wanna do in college. Besides studying and stuff of course

“OP was not looking for a school with a hippie feel”

let me clarify, definity want a hippie feel.
And thanks to everyone for the help

Oh, so you do want a hippie feel. Well then I would not suggest those schools listed above.
Many universities have a hippie feel so I will just limit my suggestions ( at least for now) within the Bit Ten, meaning:
Northwestern, Purdue, Illinois, Iowa, Michigan, Penn State, Ohio State

Michigan State University is one of the few universities I have actually step on campus and I don’t think the school would have the hippie scene your looking for, as it would be included with Indiana and Wisconsin. Though actually these three schools are really big in partying which may settle for what your looking for.

i have no idea, but u sound cool. be my friend? ;)

SDSU! california weather and I believe it is everything else you described.
Or UCSB
