Hello everyone! I’m so fortunate to be deciding between the following programs and would like some insight:
-UT Austin - Computer Science Honors and Business Honors Program
-Cornell University - Computer Science and Economics (BA)
Several factors that I am considering are:
- Alumni network and school connections + opportunities
- Initial job placement (particularly in Silicon Valley or Fintech) and MBA placement
- Cost (in-state at UT plus 5k scholarship vs full-tuition at Cornell) - my parents are willing to pay for this cost
- The undergraduate experience (class size, traditions, sense of community, academic flexibility, …)
I keep on going back and forth between the two schools, and I really don’t know what to choose. In terms of prestige, I know both places are highly ranked in what I want to do. I honestly think that I would be fine at both places but am leaning to Cornell because it’s out-of-state and has a more diverse community (but also, Austin has more year-round internship opportunities and is cheaper).
Any insight would be appreciated Thanks so much!
