Help Deciding Between Community Colleges..

I'm high school student.. going to a community college next year..but here's the problem..

I like Onondaga Community college, I want to go somewhere I can dorm and Onondaga offers that, I'm not sure what my major will be yet but maybe something in the science field? or maybe I'll just stay Liberal Arts until I transfer.. Now Because Onondaga is a NY state school (SUNY) it can send its top students to 2 Ivy leagues with out a problem because they are both in New york state.. Columbia I suppose would be a little harder where as with Cornell there is a transfer Agreement between the 2 colleges

I also like Santa Barbara City College, I always Grew up on the East coast and I would love to Travel away for a while and study there they don't offer On campus housing but they offer Housing in privately owned dorms Across the street from University Of California: Santa Barbara. Its only about 10 min or less to Santa Barbara City College from the dorm site, It has transfer agreements with all the UC's Except for UCLA and UC: Berkley .. Priority Admission To UCLA though and I Suppose I can Still Try out for Berkley IDK..

Dean College Is practically Begging for me to go to their school.. I wouldn't mind.. I just can;t enough info about the school such as Dorms.. and the Area.. Its 1 hr from Rhode Island and 1 hr from Boston Mass.. Which are two interesting cities and city like.. I'm not sure about their Transfer Agreements they have.. I I do attend here.. It would be a very interesting Experience for me since im very much a city Boy.

I was also Looking at Santa Monica but not to sure about there.. they seem like they have a good Academic line up but the housing they don't have.. and the ones that they do is 6 miles away in LA although I really wouldn't mind the city life since I'm from NYC..and I have applied and was accepted I Just don't know.

So what do you think? o.O

Some questions 1. do you HAVE to go to a school with a Transfer Agreement?.
Can You still try out for any college you want including the IVY's (Only Because my whole immediate Family went to a IVY or 2 I was born not smart lol..Its going to sound weird but my mom actually works at one.. If you've been paying attention you'll know which one..lol. I just rather not even Apply with my Grades right now.. ) Just tell me what you think please! =]

I don’t think it makes sense to go all the way to California for a community college. You’d be paying hefty OOS tuition which makes it a very questionable cost vs. worth equation. And these days, transferring into an Ivy from a cc is very, very difficult - IF the schools take transfers at all. In the past couple of years, some of the Ivies did not.

I’m also facing the same problem deciding between CC’s. Is it a really foolhardy move to another state just to attend community college? In my case I am from overseas so I’d be paying the OOS fees if not more… but I REALLY want to study in the states.
