I got into uiuc under the DGS though I applied business and plan on doing business. Because of this, there's probably only a 15-20% of me going there (over UCSB). My parents are kinda iffy about spending money to send me to Illinois over spring break for 2-3 days to visit. Do you think I should still visit? I actually want to go see the campus but I'm not sure if its worth arguing with my parents over, especially since I might not even go. I'm out of state, in Cali.

If you’re not sure about the U of I, then visit; it’s the best way to see if the college is the right one for you. Don’t, however, spend the money to come here if you can’t afford it. The U of I is undeniably expensive, and it would not make sense to waste money on a trip to a college you won’t be able to attend (however, the U of I will lock in your tuition for four years, so what you pay your freshman year will be what you pay your senior year. Most other colleges will hike your tuition up a good amount over four years).

That said, the U of I has a wonderful campus. Visiting over my spring break was what finally made me decide to accept admission there. If you decide to come, you won’t be disappointed! (although why you would choose Illinois over California is beyond me! )

I am from Cali as well and just finished visiting uiuc. I learned a lot for my time there about what to expect and the dean was very helpful in answering questions you probably won’t find on the net. though I attended the short, daily engineering program, I recommend going to one of their full day program instead to get the most experience out of it.
