I am a current freshmen at UNL, and I was wondering if you can be dismissed after only your first year. My first semester I had a GPA of 1.3 and this semester I think it might come out to be 1.6 Is that grounds for dismissal? Someone please help ASAP!

Thanks!

It sounds to me like you really need to be talking to your college specific advisor/counselor or whatever they call it. You’ll have a much better chance if you approach them rather than waiting for them to come to you, and you’ll probably be surprised by how much they really want you to succeed.

The general university standards are here:

Probation/dismissal is discussed here:

I would suggest looking into Southeast Community College to at least get back on your feet. SCC has two locations in Lincoln. It offers a transfer program, but also about 50 other technical programs. Check it out at www.southeast.edu.
