I am planning to major in bioengineering and possibly considering med school in the future. I heard a very competitive gpa for med school is a 3.8 but bioengineering seems to be a pretty tough field. Right now, I am considering going to a smaller unknown college (I have received nearly a full ride, I will be $1000/year here) and hoefully transferring after 2 years (having completed the required courses and hopefully having around a 3.8). Does this plan seem reasonable?

My other options are:
University of Washington-seattle, Santa Clara University, Rochester Institute of Technology(most likely a no because of the distance), and Rensselaer (same as RIT)
