<p>Michigan State has lots of "small college" type residential colleges, giving an LAC atmosphere to the large campus -- and MSU is know for the quality of these colleges, as well... Also, the Hillel organization is strong at MSU. A very nice new house was built on a quiet, tree-shaded street in East Lansing a few blocks from campus and the downtown business district a year or so ago. Also, the Jewish Studies program, under renowned poli-sci prof Ken Waltzer, is reputed to be very good. christalena2 is correct: MSU is definitely worth a look. I'm surprised your local Hillel didn't have Michigan State on its list with the others.</p>
