Help finding safty/legitimate reach schools for next year

Hey guys, So I pretty much know what my match schools are, and are pretty confident with them, but I only have one true safety school, and 2 reaches that I'm thinking of, and even that one makes me nervous. Hopefully you guys can help me out. I don't test well SAT/ACT wise, and my scores don't reflect what kind of student I am. My grades are great, and my high school isn't necessarily bad either - We sent 2 kids to Duke this year, 4 or 5 to UNC-CH, 2 to UVA, another 2 to Miami, etc. Heres the deal: (Sorry about the relative length)

Intended Major: Probably will apply undecided, All of these schools offer Meteorology programs, however that could change.

Reaches:
U of Miami (FL)
Wake Forest (Without submitting SAT scores)
(x)
Match:
Penn State
NC State
Mississippi State
Florida State
Safty:
UNC-Asheville (I'm only worried about this one because its generally the best satellite school of UNC)
(x)

(x)

Junior in a class of 323, public high school in North Carolina
ranked 9/323 (top 3%)
UW GPA: 3.88, W GPA: 4.67 (Unweighted may take a hit down to around 3.8, but W may go up to 4.75 or so by the end of the year)
SAT: 1600, ACT 23 composite (retaking SAT in May and in September senior year. Thats my first time score from January, probably won't retake the ACT)
1 "B" in 5 semesters of high school, all A's otherwise
Completed 3 AP classes, currently enrolled in 1 - passed APUS Gov w/ a 4

Senior schedule to include German I & II, and 3 or 4 more AP classes

Extracurricular:
I work a job at a grocery store about 20 hours a week (time consuming!)
I am a member of our schools soccer team for all of my 3 years, first two on JV, varsity this past year
JV Captain of soccer sophomore year
National Science Honors society member
Student advisory committee member
National Honors society
Volunteer experience this past summer working at soccer camps, doing youth soccer camps for our schools soccer program as well ~ 60-80 hours total
Selected as a Junior Marshall for the graduation ceremony this year
I can get very solid recs as well

Have you verified that each school is affordable? Try the “net price calculator” at each school’s web site.

with your current SAT and ACT most of your matches are reaches.

Match: University of Delaware or George Mason
Safety: Eastern Carolina University and UNC-Wilmington

Price isnt really a factor as long as tuition is below 31k a year

And my matches are pretty decent matches, PSU takes gpa as 2/3 of their decision, and my scores for NC State and Mississippi state are within the middle 50%. Thats assuming i dont get any better score the next 2 times.

Tuition is below $31K, or total cost? Room and Board generally add another $10K.

How do you know GPA is 2/3 of PSU’s admissions? Scores are rated at the same level (very important) and your scores are ~25%ile. [C. Freshman Admission](<a href=“Error Page”>Error Page)

They are also 25%ile for NC State.

Tuition below 31k. I only have to pay a $2000 deductible for tuition below 31k thanks to a program im in. And it says so on PSU’s website and they say it on the admissions tours.

Do you care what region of the country? If not, look at Valparaiso University in Indiana. Offers meteorology major, tuition about $31K (you may qualify for some merit awards), and your test scores are within range.

Ideally id like to stay near the east coast, not past Mississippi. But I forgot about valpo, ill look into it.
