Help for majoring Theatrical Design

Hi, I am an international student majoring Architecture having two question.
So, please help me.! please!

I am very interested in being an Art Director for fim & TV commercials or an production Designer.
During googling, I figured out my architecture background could be helpful when it combines with MFA ; stage , theater, entertainment .
So now I am looking for grauate school for MFA.
But I think there are more school for Dramatic arts, (do you think that is helpful for me to study stage designe even if I want to be production designer for TV or film ; not for theater?)

I found NYU Tisch(Design for stage and Film), UCLA (Design for theater and Entertainment Media). But before that I heard USC is the best school, but in website I can't find it because there are no design major in Cinematic Art, and also in dramatic Art of gradutate programs. But I heard they have it. Does it disappear?
And also, please recommend some good graduate school for me. !

Sorry for my poor English ! But I will be better :9 and again Thanks for reading !

There are rumors that USC may soon start to offer a Production Design MFA in their School of Cinematic Arts but nothing like that is offered yet. However, one of the top post grad programs in the US is offered by the AFI (American Film Institute) in Los Angeles.

If you want to study theatrical design, some top MFA Scenic Design programs would also include Yale and UC San Diego.

Best of luck.

Being a Yale School of Drama alum, I’m naturally biased, but Carnegie Mellon in Pittsburgh has a strong design program and has many alums working in LA as art directors and production designers. If you’re considering performing arts design, I would look at Yale.
