HELP FOR MARCH SAT

I am really panicking right now and need some advice- I am currently a junior and took the SAT in December and got 660 Math, 780 CR, and 800 Writing. I hoped to retake this month to boost my math score, but I’ve been in a really terrible mental state for the past month or so and have only done two practice tests, both just last weekend. I hope to get in three more (though it really will be a struggle before the 14th) but am still really worried that I will be unprepared. I can’t imagine it will be reparable if my scores actually go down this time. Should I still try and take it now? I hoped to take subject tests in June, avoid May because of AP tests, and steer clear of senior year testing. I know this is all my fault, but I need to dig myself out of this hole somehow.

Right now my intended path is looking like some combination of chemistry and English/journalism. I also took the ACT and got a 33 composite (35 writing, 31 math, 31 science, 24 reading)

Why the heck are you panicking!!?? You’re golden!! I wouldn’t reccomend doing more than 2 retakes of the SAT, if that’s what you mean by “three more”. Maybe take it in March, then in October of senior year. Don’t be afraid to take it senior year, unless you know you’ll lose knowledge over the summer. Another option is to just brave subject tests in May, then take it in March and June if you’re set on not doing senior year testing.

It seems your only “weakness” is in Math. Fortunately, that section is also the easiest one to improve. You just need to do more practice tests and go through the answers that you have missed. On the other hand, your ACT score is great. You should not worry too much. If you really want to improve your Math section score, just spend part of the summer to prepare for it and take the first SAT test in Fall. Most likely, you don’t even need to retake any ACT/SAT unless you are aiming at really top schools or for merit aid.
