<p>Sorry, but that couldn't be further from the truth.... don't know who gave you that information, but they are incorrect.</p>

<p>To the OP, definitely consider DO schools before going to the islands. But also, wait until you have your MCAT and final GPA in hand before deciding what to do. Also consider the fact that you won't be applying for another 2 cycles, during which time competativeness will likely continue to increase (especially among the DO schools, many of which have average scores equivalent to MD schools at this point)</p>

<p>Ya, Poseur, I know you wrote this a long time ago, but I agree certainly because a lot of those higher SATers did not get the score without preparation. It is certainly possible that a person with a 1200 SAT just didn't care enough in HS, and COULD HAVE prepared to score in the 1400+ range.</p>
