Ok, so I got rejected by Ivies (still makes me cry), except for Brown University, which waitlisted me. Now, among the schools that accepted me, I am considering Wash U, Johns Hopkins, and UC Berkeley and maybe UCLA?
I am planning to have a job in financial field. (WS would be good)
I am accepted for Olin Business School in Wash U, and Pre-business thing for UC Berkeley and Math major for Johns Hopkins.

Would you guys help me by comparing and contrasting and stating pros and cons of each of the school?

Actually, I’d like to know some comparisons, too. For me, it’s between JHU and Cal and I’m going into chemical engineering (though, obviously at JHU, I wouldn’t have to declare right away). I know Berkeley has one of the best engineering departments in the nation, but I still think it’d be sorta fun to live on the east coast (I live on the west coast). Idk.

i had some dilemma too last year, trying to decide between berkeley and hopkins (i am from california btw)…they are very different schools and you should visit both of them if you can. Social life wise…u ll have like 1000 times more fun in berkeley and plus the good weather obviously. And ludicolo, berkeley obviously has better chemical engineering program than hopkins. On the other hand, a lot of ppl major in chembe (short hand for chemical & biomolecular engineering, and its known to be most demanding/hardest major…harder than bme. I have a bunch of friends who are majoring in chembe and i heard mixed reviews…how hard classes are and professors in their dept are not necessarily the greatest…but since hopkins is much smaller than cal, u ll definitely have more research opportunities and get more personal attention and smaller classes.
And for kimwb, i think if you are really set on majoring in business, you should go to olin or haas, since hopkins do not offer major in business. We do offer minors…in entrepreneurship & management and in financial economics (which is more like finance related business, ibanking).
To be honest, I don’t think you have to major in business to get a business job. I personally know a senior who is a biomedical engineering major and will be working as a analyst at morgan stanley in nyc this fall. And companies like ubs come to recruit on campus as well
